The cottage offered a calming retreat with a spacious garden and fully equipped kitchen. There were plenty of books, games, and DVDs for entertainment. The en-suite bathroom and big bedroom/living area with a log burner were perfect for relaxation. The location was ideal for trekkers and offered easy access to walks and beaches. Petra, the host, was fabulous and helpful.
Felt cared for, no reason to complain.

The room at Barholm Croft Holiday Cottage was cozy and comfortable. I loved the warm fireplace, perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea or coffee. The tea/coffee maker was a nice touch, making it easy to enjoy a hot beverage whenever I wanted.
Personally, I found the toaster in the room unnecessary. Others might still find it useful, though.

The decoration at this charming cottage was simply delightful. It had a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The general areas were well-maintained, and everything was easily accessible, which was perfect for someone like me who may have trouble getting around. I truly appreciated the thoughtfulness put into making the cottage senior-friendly.
If I could ask for anything to make this vacation even better for senior people, it would be a little more assistance from the staff. While the children working there were polite and friendly, having a helping hand with my luggage or any other needs would have been a nice touch.

What a gem of a find! The cottage was simply stunning with a spacious garden and a fully equipped kitchen. The bookcase filled with books, games, and DVDs provided ample entertainment options. The en-suite bathroom was lovely, and the big bedroom/living area with a log burner was the perfect place to relax. The location was ideal, with easy access to beautiful walks and stunning beaches. But the best part was the fabulous host, Petra. She was always ready to help without being intrusive. I'm already planning my next visit!
Honestly, there was nothing negative about my stay at this cottage. It was perfect in every way.

We stayed at a charming cottage in a great location for walking and cycling. the cottage had a cozy fireplace with plenty of books, DVDs, and a choice of TV channels. the kitchen was well-equipped and there was space to store our bikes and dry wet clothes. the nearby town had supermarkets for convenience. the cottage also had a beautiful garden and a spacious and comfortable bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
The cottage lacked a breakfast service which would have been a nice addition.

Sea Views: Sitting on the patio, sipping my morning coffee, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by the breathtaking sea views. It felt like I was having my own personal front-row seat to nature's very own IMAX theater.
Limited toiletries supply.

We had a wonderful stay at Barholm Croft Holiday Cottage in a beautiful location. the cottage itself was comfortable and spacious with a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy log burner in the bedroom/living area. We enjoyed the convenience of having a supermarket nearby in Newton Stewart for stocking up on supplies. the cottage also had facilities for drying wet clothes and storing bikes, which was great for our outdoor activities. the host, Petra, was fabulous and provided excellent assistance without being intrusive. We especially loved the peaceful garden and the selection of books, DVDs, and games that added to the overall relaxing experience. Cons: Everything was fantastic! 😊.
